Budweiser, Bud Light, and Bud Light Lime Expand Facebook Presence

Anheuser Busch has been with Buddy Media from the beginning. Our first client is also our most loyal client, returning again and again for additional forays into the Facebook universe.  Over the past few weeks, we’ve launched a handful of new campaigns for Anheuser Busch brands – each one unique and uniquely social.

Budweiser has long been a stalwart of Super Bowl advertising, entertaining fans everywhere with some of the most iconic television commercials in the history of the medium. The folks at Budweiser wanted to extend their influential reach into the realm of social media with this year’s Super Bowl ad campaign. As a result, they decided to let their fans vote on which Budweiser commercial would air during Super Bowl XLIV. We developed a custom ‘Game Day Pick‘ Facebook Page tab for Budweiser that lets users watch all three potential advertisements and subsequently vote for their favorite. Budweiser will then let the fan feedback determine the winning commercial, which will premiere during the big game.

While we were hard at work getting their Super Bowl campaign rolling, our team was concurrently plowing through development of an additional custom tab on the Budweiser Fan Page. The Kasey Kahne tab is a hub for social interactions with the NASCAR superstar. We implemented a strategy that allows fans to ask Kasey questions, view exclusive race photos, read his frequent tweets and check out his upcoming NASCAR schedule. The Kasey Kane tab is another example of Budweiser speeding through Facebook on all cylinders by giving fans content targeted at their favorite interests and activities.

Bud Light has also expanded their social media reach with the launch of the Bud Light Hotel custom tab. Appealing to the college-aged demographic, the Bud Light Hotel in South Beach hosted a variety of events (including a performance by Flo Rida, UFC matches and bikini pool parties), which they then streamed on their Facebook Page. With the live stream of these events, the Bud Light Hotel is the virtual place to be for Spring Break inspired debauchery.

Last but not least, we recently launched an application for Bud Light Lime. BL Lime is a relatively new brand, which conjures visions of warm weather and summer days on the beach. As a result, Anheuser Busch wanted to leverage that image to keep the brand at the top of fans’ minds, year round. The Bud Light Lime Vacation app lets users choose from a variety of vacation destinations based on dynamic weather forecasts and a list of leisure activities. From these choices, thirsty fans of Bud Light Lime can publish a Wall post sharing where they’d rather be ‘enjoying the citrusy zing’ of this tasty Anheuser Busch cerveza.

The social media explosion has just begun for Anheuser Busch. With a gaggle of campaigns for a slew of brands on the horizon, Anheuser Busch is staking a claim as the beverage of choice for Facebook users everywhere – thanks to the unbelievable power of the Buddy Media Platform and the dedication and hard work of the Buddy Media team.
