It’s Time to Get Serious: The Recap

A week has passed since the latest Buddy Media shindig and I’ve had plenty of time to revisit the night’s sights and sounds with co-workers and friends.  What follows are my ten favorite moments of the night (along with the expected snarky commentary):

10. The frantic scrambling by Buddy Media employees when they discovered the spotty mobile coverage at the Hiro Ballroom.  Did you notice the four hour cease-fire in constant tweets, status updates, and Gowalla check-ins?

9. Truffle oil and garlic abounded in the scrumptious food. Thank goodness for the towel guy in the bathroom and his big plate full of gum.

8. Seth Meyer’s Kill Bill joke – the wittiest bon mot of the evening.

7. Watching Buddy Media team members, both new and old, schmoozing it up with clients and friends. Our first out-of-office party put everyone in the spirit of socialization.

6. The line snaking around the corner at 6:30 – two hours before the night’s main event. Amazing! You’d think the head writer of Saturday Night Live was due to roast social media. Oh, wait, that was the plan all along.

5. The entire PR, Ops, and Marketing teams strutting with purpose and attitude while wearing their space-age headsets and microphones.

4. Hearing that Laz predicted the downfall of Big Head Todd and the Monsters as well as the ascension of the Internet into the homes of people all over the globe.

3. Mr. Jeff Ragovin in all his glory – ‘Nuff said.

2. The Brilliant Buddy Production Premieres to wide critical acclaim – proving to all in attendance that social marketing is here to stay.

1. Watching all of our valued clients eat, drink, and laugh – what a treat to see!
