Account Manager, The Buddy Media Platform

The Buddy Media Platform powers the social marketing efforts of some of the world’s largest brands and agencies – from Anheuser Busch, Southwest Airlines, Disney and NHL to TBWA\Chiat\Day, WPP’s M80, Universal Music/Geffin Records, Digitas and Razorfish among many.
Brands and agencies use the Buddy Media Platform to publish and manage social content, listen and act on consumer conversations, and analyze and track results. Agencies also use the Buddy Media Platform to immediately grow social media revenues, while defending their existing business from competitors. From publishing an offer to sharing product news, the Buddy Media Platform gives brands and agencies total control over their social marketing efforts to make social work.
Buddy Media is a privately held company, based in New York City, founded by Mike and Kass Lazerow in September of 2007. Buddy Media is backed by Softbank Capital, European Founders Fund, GreyCroft Partners, Peter Thiel, Mark Pincus, Roger Ehrenberg, Howard Lindzon and additional investors.
The Role
Buddy Media is looking for an account manager with agency experience to manage multiple Platform licensing relationships with medium- and large-sized advertising agencies, public relation firms, media buying services and specialized marketing firms.
Our ideal candidate has a passion for social media personally and a proven track record professionally of effectively communicating the value of a technology product to agency stakeholders. The role will require highly organized communication plans, consistent and diligent follow-up correspondence and ongoing support to multiple teams within the agencies that are leveraging the Buddy Media Platform technology. A strong candidate will have experience selling-through concepts to agency account teams, as well as with brainstorming social media tactics for brands across all sales verticals.

Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Account Management and VP of Platform Sales to successfully sign/close new agency brand accounts to the Buddy Media Platform.
- Work continuously to enlarge the number of individual brands from each agency using the Buddy Media Platform.
- Maintain constant communication with agency representatives, including account directors, creative teams and upper management, to ensure that the Platform is top of mind when they are pitching new and existing business.
- Continue to educate agencies and brand managers via calls, emails, lunch-and-learns, meetings and presentations about new Buddy Media Platform features and changes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience of account management experience and/or digital marketing experience, preferably in an agency (social marketing experience is a plus).
- Must have superior written skills and be able to create proposals and presentations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a high comfort level with in-person client and agency pitch/sales meetings.
- Demonstrated success in consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations and engendering confidence with clients.
- Must be skilled in analyzing potential revenue-generating opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
