The Buddy Media Platform gives brands and agencies total control over their social marketing campaigns, allowing them to launch, maintain and measure their brands’ efforts. Some of the world’s largest brands, including Anheuser Busch, JCrew, Southwest Airlines, Disney and others, license the Buddy Media Platform to create, manage and track their social media profiles and campaigns. Based in New York, Buddy Media is a privately held company backed by Softbank Capital, European Founders Fund, GreyCroft Partners, Peter Thiel, Mark Pincus, Roger Ehrenberg, Howard Lindzon and additional investors.

The Role

Buddy Media is looking for experienced sales leaders with significant enterprise software sales experience to sell the Buddy Media Platform to small and large businesses in the CPG, sports, fashion, entertainment, auto, financial services, travel, food and beverage, technology, fashion and publishing industries.
Our ideal candidate has a passion for social media personally and a proven track record professionally of selling to enterprise customers. Our ideal candidate is comfortable negotiating five-figure licensing deals and is used to carrying and exceeding a $3M+ annual quota. Our ideal candidate is able to juggle many different opportunities at the same time in order to successfully build a large and sustainable pipeline. This requires a candidate with meticulous, disciplined follow up to leads provided by organic lead generation and from your constant relationship building with partners to find new opportunities. The candidate must also be able to self-prospect to uncover new business with existing contacts.
Buddy Media is only looking for motivated self-starters who are motivated by a generous compensation plan in which fifty percent (50%) or more of total compensation will be commission-based with unlimited upside.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect, negotiate and close sales to medium and large companies in market for social media marketing solutions.
  • Manage software license sales and services renewals.
  • Build and manage an accurate pipeline of business for forecasting purposes, collaborating with the Chief Revenue Officer.
  • Respond to, filter and qualify incoming inquiries, developing a sales cycle driven independently or in association with others.
  • Work with, learn from, and contribute to a fast-moving technology-focused company.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with existing clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ degree, experience with enterprise software sales, preferably in the online marketing services industry (ad serving, social media, search marketing, email marketing).
  • 5+ years experience in business-to-business sales, including prospecting, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Must be skilled in analyzing potential revenue-generating opportunities, along with creating proposals/presentations for internal and external clients.
  • Must have current contacts and previous experience dealing with interactive, VP, C level execs.
  • Sales Leaders will be members of the Sales team, led by the Chief Revenue Officer.
