The Buddy Media Platform gives brands and agencies total control over their social marketing campaigns, allowing them to launch, maintain and measure their brands’ efforts. Some of the world’s largest brands, including Anheuser Busch, JCrew, Southwest Airlines, Disney and others, license the Buddy Media Platform to create, manage and track their social media profiles and campaigns. The Role
Buddy Media is looking for experienced Senior Application Developers who can thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while supporting all client initiatives. A passion for social media is a must. A member of the Technology team at Buddy Media should be clever, willing to adapt to a social environment that changes daily, and able to work with a team of very passionate developers and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Execute client social media initiatives on a number of social platforms such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter
- Communicate with project managers and technology leaders on a daily basis
- Lead projects through the full lifecycle of development from kickoff to release
Qualifications
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience in a professional Internet environment
- Expert PHP5 with OOP background. Well versed in other languages a plus
- Strong knowledge and experience with all web development concepts including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, XML/JSON
- Excellent working knowledge of SQL, MySQL specifically, is desirable
- Experience working in a unix development environment and being comfortable with the shell prompt
- Experience working with source control systems in a collaborative environment, such as Subversion (or CVS)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an interest in developing creative solutions by thinking “out of the box”
- Interest in creating, refining and adhering to development standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical personnel
- Ability to work rapidly and adjust to changing requirements in real time
- Ability to handle a high volume of projects
- Enthusiasm, personality, teamwork and a positive attitude count tremendously
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of memcached
- Experience with Facebook Developer Platform. FBJS, FBML, Facebook Connect
- Experience working with a team of other developers and project managers
A Senior Application Developer will work as a member of the Technology team, directed by the VP of Technology.
