Developers get more Facebook time

It took only a year for Buddy Media Inc. to reach 8 million people on the Web — all it had to do was piggyback off the success of Facebook.

The Manhattan-based firm, which created 50 different applications that let top brands like FedEx and Reebok target consumers on the popular social network, has grown to 30 employees and raised $8.5 million in funding from industry heavyweights like Peter Thiel, a co-founder of PayPal.
