, whose career as a journalist has just taken off. So, she logs the details of her too-cool lifestyle in LA on Twitter. There, she promotes her fictional book in character, links to her fictional identity on Facebook, from whence she connects with her “fans,” and links to her in-character video blogs on YouTube. The result, in marketing parlance, is a veritable fan “swarm,” Robert Hayes, SVP and GM of Showtime Networks’ Digital Media, told a rapt audience of entrepreneurs and financiers at AlwaysOn’s OnMedia 09 last week.
