It’s been over 3 months since Buddy Media made a commitment to raise $50,000 for Cycle for Survival.  Our team rose to the challenge without hesitation, reaching our goal in just a few weeks.  But we didn’t stop when we hit $50,000 (and it's not because we’re the most competitive group of people you’ll ever meet!).  We continued to fundraise and to spread the word about Cycle for Survival because it’s an organization in which we strongly believe, and one that Buddy Media will continue to support until enough money is raised to find cures and fund additional treatments for rare cancers.

Last weekend marked the Manhattan and Long Island Cycle for Survival events, where more than 50 Buddies cycled in one-hour shifts.  The gym was full of an indescribable energy, fueled by upbeat music, racing hearts and a jammed-packed room of people determined to help find a cure for cancer.  I’m proud to announce that, cumulatively, the Buddy Media teams (located in Manhattan, Long Island and San Francisco) have raised more than $140,000.  (Yes, we know; we’re overachievers.)  And even better?  Jennifer Goodman Linn, 6-time cancer survivor and co-founder of Cycle for Survival, announced that Cycle for Survival has raised more than $4.2 million this year alone, a record to beat in 2012!

We want to extend a huge thanks to everyone who donated their money, time and support to Buddy Media, all of which helped make Cycle for Survival 2011 a massive success.  We also want to extend our appreciation to Portero, the leading curated source for 'premium, pre-owned, prized' authenticated luxury goods, for sponsoring the Buddy Media team.  Of course, 100% of Portero's $25,000 sponsorship goes to Cycle for Survival.

It’s not too late to donate, and if you have friends or family in the San Francisco area, please encourage them to participate in Cycle for Survival on March 5th.  To understand the true power of Cycle for Survival, please check out our highlight reel (above) and the media coverage (read more) of the event.
