Buddy Media at LeWeb '11: Here's What You Missed

Posted by Joe Ciarallo on

LeWeb is quickly becoming one of the must attend events for anyone working in "digital." It is also one of the few events that has a diverse audience, in terms of both geography and professional backgrounds. Bringing together engineers, brands, agencies, start-ups and multi-national companies from around the world for three days straight, it's impressive to see how far Loic and Geraldine LeMeur have come with this event.

Buddy Media partnered with LeWeb again this year to power the conference's Facebook Page, which featured the popular live streaming video of all panels and keynotes.

Here are some of our highlights from the event (I also think we're a shoe-in for the most colorful booth contest at LeWeb if they decide to do that next year!).

Our own Michael Lazerow presented on day three of the event. We were asked by Loic to present on "Latest Trends for Facebook Pages," and Michael highlighted some of the best ways brands are currently using Facebook to engage with people and grow their business. You can view the full video of his presentation here:

And the presentation is also on Slideshare:

Business Insider liked it so much that they published it as a slide show, which you can view here.

One of our favorite talks was from Altimeter Group analyst Jeremiah Owyang. His outstanding presentation, "Climb the Social Business Hierarchy of Needs," is worth your time. Both Jeremiah and Waggener Edstrom's Tac Anderson think we're very much in "back to basics" mode when it comes to social media marketing. Tac noted on his blog, "We’ve still got to get a heck of a lot better at the stuff we’re doing. Not even everyone is on the bus yet but the formula is simple. Listen to your customers. Participate in their communities. Empower your employees. Create great content. Measure everything. Optimize, optimize, optimize." We couldn't agree more.

Back to Buddy Media, Michael also took time to speak with the press, including France Televisions/Les Echos, as part of their "3 questions aux acteurs de Le Web" series. Here's the video:

If you were at LeWeb, I hope you had a chance to stop by our colorful booth. Here are a few pictures (there are more on our Facebook Page):
