Buddy Media's Social Media Week 2012 In Review

Is Social Media Week 2012 over already? The week seemed to fly by, and we're still catching up on all of the recap videos and blog posts. As a proud partner of Social Media Week, Buddy Media hosted events in New York City, San Francisco, London and Singapore during an outstanding week that attracted more than 60,000 attendees. Social Media Week organizers Toby Daniels and Ben Scheim once again did an excellent job leading a global event that gets bigger every year.

With so much going on, chances are you couldn't keep up with everything. That's why we decided to recap all of our events for you right here.

Panel: Buddy Media Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Jeff Ragovin moderated "Social Syndication in 2012: Experiences First, Networks Second." The panel featured Kristine Welker, Chief Revenue Officer, Hearst Digital, Kelly Balz, NA Social Media Manager, Avon, Michael Svatek, Chief Strategy Officer, Bazaarvoice and Sam Champion, Weather Anchor for Good Morning America. Panel: Luca Benini, Managing Director, Europe, hosted a panel in London titled "Optimising Your Global Social Media Strategy for 2012" alongside Richard Dance, Director of Digital Innovation, Blue Hive, Kathleen Ryan, Global Social Media Manager, Dove, Jane Maybury, Senior Account Director, Edelman Digital, Julia Monro, Community Manager, Marks and Spencer, and Matt Owen, Social Media Manager, Econsultancy. Panel: CEO Michael Lazerow participated in a panel titled "The Future of Sharing." Alongside Dave Altarescu, Head of U.S. Consumer Marketing, Spotify, Craig Hepburn, Global Director of Social Media, Nokia and Jon Steinberg, President, BuzzFeed, the panel debated the way people will share content in the future both with different technologies and different levels of comfort. Announcement: After Michael's keynote address, Buddy Media headed to Tumblr headquarters, as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Chief Digital Officer Rachel Sterne announced four new NYCGov social media channels. Buddy Media is a proud partner of NYC Digital, and provided tools and development advice to help launch the New York City's Facebook Page. Panel: Buddy Media Senior Vice President, Eastern Region Sales, Myles Kleeger moderated a panel with Kelly Solomon, VP, Interactive & E-Commerce, Active Cosmetics Division, L'Oreal and Jonny Cottone, Marketing Director, Busted Tees. The panel, titled "Social Commerce is Here, Is your Brand Ready" focused on turning social connections into revenue and conversions. Watch the full video here.

Panel: Buddy Media Chief Client Officer Michael Jaindl participated in a panel titled "Digital Passport: Navigating the World's Social Media" alongside Chad Latz, Global Digital Practice President, Cohn & Wolfe and Liz Birenbaum, VP, Global Digital Marketing, MasterCard Worldwide. The panel discussed the approaches and potential pitfalls for making brands' social strategies global.

Panel: Buddy Media SVP, Western Region Sales, Carla Bourque participated in a panel in San Francisco titled, "Beyond: The Future of Sharing " with David Hargreaves, CEO, Beyond, Phil Schwarzmann, Head of Owned and Social Media, Nokia, Andy Wiedlin, Chief Revenue Officer, Buzzfeed and Stephanie Berner, Director of Product Management, OPOWER.
