As many NFL fans – especially those in New York and Philadelphia – will remember, on December 19th, 2010, the Philadelphia Eagles had a dramatic fourth quarter come from behind rally to beat the New York Giants. This unthinkable win not only boosted the Eagles rankings, but also boosted their Facebook presence.

STRATEGY + EXECUTION

The fourth quarter was when fan emotion peaked, which in turn provided the highest number of engagements. The driving force behind the engagement was the Eagles’ constant communication to their fan base. Each of their thirteen wall posts created a conversation with all of their fans.

RESULTS

By using the Buddy Media Social Marketing Suite to engage in real-time with their fans, the Eagles successfully translated offline excitement around the game into Facebook success.
